- Will a redesign lose us our Google rankings?
- Only if it is done carelessly. Rankings are lost when URLs change and nothing redirects the old ones, or when content that was earning traffic gets cut in the rewrite. We inventory every indexable URL first, ship a one to one 301 redirect map in the same deploy as the new site, and keep the pages that bring you visitors. Expect a fortnight of movement while search engines recrawl, then a return to where you were or better.
- How much does a website redesign cost?
- We quote a fixed number per project after the free audit, not an hourly rate, because the audit is what tells us whether you need five pages rebuilt or fifteen plus a booking flow. What we can tell you before the audit is the mechanism: we reuse components we have already built and tested, there is no account management layer, and we do not put a margin on your hosting, domain or subscriptions. That is where the difference against an agency quote comes from.
- We have had the same website since 2011. Is it worth fixing or starting over?
- Usually starting over is cheaper. Old sites are built on plugins and themes that no longer get security updates, and patching them costs more over a year than a clean rebuild. We will tell you honestly which one your site needs in the free audit. Sometimes the answer really is to leave it and fix your Google listing instead.
- How long does a redesign take?
- A Refresh is typically two to three weeks from the day we get your content. A full Modernise project runs four to six weeks. Your current site stays live the whole time and we switch over on a day that suits you.
- Do we own the website, or are we renting it from you?
- You own it. The domain, hosting account, code, data and every tool we set up are registered in your name from day one. If you ever leave, you keep everything and we hand over the logins the same week.
- Can you work with our existing content, or do we have to write it all again?
- We work with what you have. Most established businesses have years of usable material sitting in old pages, brochures and email replies to customers. We consolidate it, cut the pages nobody reads, and rewrite only where the copy is actively costing you enquiries. You are not handed a blank document and a deadline.
